According to the U.S. Surgeon General’s Report, more than 51 million school hours are lost each year to dental-related illnesses. Tooth decay is the single most common chronic childhood ailment- 5 times more common than asthma and 7 times more common than hay fever.

February is National Children’s Dental Health Awareness Month. Each February, since 1949, the American Dental Association (ADA) has sponsored National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health.

Western Heights Community Out Reach, Inc presents more than 30 presentations a year to over 6,000 students in Knox and surrounding counties. We are always excited to share the importance of dental health in our community.
